Australia Post announced a temporary partial suspension of postal services to the United States and Puerto Rico starting today, August 26th. This decision is in response to the recent changes the US Government implemented regarding customs and import tariffs.

The US has suspended the De Minimis exemption for inbound goods valued below USD $800 and now requires the pre-payment of tariffs before an item arrives in the country. Because of these changes, Australia Post has stopped accepting parcels heading for the US and Puerto Rico until further notice.

This suspension will affect Australia Post customers using Business Contract, MyPost Business, and Retail services for sending goods using the postal network. The updated regulations do not affect the sending of gifts valued under USD $100,
