EVERETT — Six residents, including three children, were displaced by a fire at a apartment complex in Lynnwood on Monday.

Around 10 a.m. Monday, South County Fire responded to a kitchen fire in the 2000 block of 44th Avenue West at the Scriber Creek Apartments, a press release said. Smoke alarms alerted residents and a sprinkler system helped contain the flames until crews arrived.

Two units were damaged, said South County Fire Community Outreach Manager Shawneri Guzman. No injuries were reported.

Support 7 and American Red Cross Northwest Region volunteers are providing assistance to those affected, the release said. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
