HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A Myrtle Beach police officer has been placed on administrative leave after his arrest on a domestic violence charge, the department said on Tuesday.
Aaron Allston was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center late Monday night on a second-degree domestic violence charge. Online records show he remains in jail as of late Tuesday morning without bond.
Myrtle Beach police said Allston has been employed as an officer with the department since 2018. He was arrested by Horry County police.
"The Myrtle Beach Police Department takes all allegations involving our employees seriously and remains committed to maintaining the trust of our community by holding ourselves to the highest standards," the agency said in a social media post.
