(NewsNation) — Fox channels could soon go dark on YouTube's TV streaming platform if a deal isn't reached by Wednesday.
Customers were warned in a YouTube blog post Monday that the companies are in "active negotiations" to reach an agreement by 5 p.m. EDT on Aug. 27.
"Fox is asking for payments that are far higher than what partners with comparable content offerings receive," the post reads. "Our priority is to reach a deal that reflects the value of their content and is fair for both sides without passing on additional costs to our subscribers."
The Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News and Fox Sports — and library recordings from those channels — would no longer be available for subscribers if a deal isn't reached.
Should Fox go dark on YouTube TV for “an extended period of time,” subscrib
