JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —The Jerome School District confirmed that schools are back in session this week, after canceling classes on Thursday and Friday due to transportation issues.

“We had a pretty catastrophic failure in our routing software. Jerome has a lot of areas where you use Google Maps or Apple Maps, and the addresses don’t register, so we were getting a lot of strange returns to our software about corn fields or beat fields,” said Superintendent Brent Johnson.

Johnson says because of this, the district had to go back and confirm the home addresses of nearly 400 students. Since last week, the district has been notifying parents whose drop-off location could not be confirmed, telling them their kids would not received transportation, starting Monday, August 25th.
