IMPD investigating apparent murder-suicide on Indianapolis' north side

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man and woman were fatally shot on the north side of Indianapolis Monday night.

According to IMPD, around 8:15 p.m. Aug. 25, officers responded to a report of a death investigation in the 9200 block of Vassar Lane , near North College Avenue and East 91st Street.

When officers arrived on scene, they said they found a man and woman shot. They were both pronounced dead on the scene.

At this time, IMPD said detectives believe this is a murder-suicide.

Police said a gun was found on the scene and taken as evidence.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
