The University of South Carolina announced Aug. 22 that it secured $259.7 million in private support during its 2025 fiscal year.

The funds were raised from 41,000 donors, including 18,647 alumni, more than 10,000 first-time contributors, and a record $43.5 million in new corporate and foundation commitments. Some donations were: • $75 million from Bonnie and Peter McCausland and The McCausland Foundation — McCausland College of Arts and Sciences • Anonymous $23.5 million gift — The School of Medicine Columbia will use the funds to enhance interdisciplinary research, simulation-based learning and scholarships • $6 million — support future nurses
