KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man is in custody after allegedly handing a Knox County Sheriff's Office deputy a bag of cocaine during a traffic stop.
According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Dajenvi Powe, 34, after he was allegedly driving erratically on U.S. 41 in Vincennes.
The sheriff's office said Powe didn't have a valid driver's license, and a smoking device was on the center console inside the vehicle, leading the deputy to ask Powe to step out of the vehicle.
"When Mr. Powe got out of the vehicle, he pulled a plastic bag from his pocket and handed it to the deputy, telling him it was cocaine," said KCSO.
