HARTFORD, Conn — It’s the first day of class for Hartford's public schools, and as the years have gone on, welcoming students back has increasingly become a party.

"Calling All Brothers" rolled out the literal red carpet for the kids as they arrived on the school grounds for the first day of school in Hartford.

The group is made up of men from different backgrounds, coming together to start the school year off right.

"We're screaming at them, we're yelling at them, they're gonna be nervous, you know, they're not gonna know what to expect, but it's our job to make them feel welcome, right? This is something that is unique," said AJ Johnson with Calling All Brothers.

Every year for the past decade, the group members have lined up at schools across Hartford to give a more than warm welcom
