CROMWELL, Conn. — Preparations for a massive strike involving dozens of school bus drivers could be underway within weeks in Connecticut , as school bus company DATTCO and Teamster Union Local 167 are not seeing eye to eye on contract negotiations.

“Our students and parents deserve to know that our drivers are professional, treated well, and can do the job safely and consistently every day to deliver the most precious cargo of all, which is our children and our future," Bryan Chong, Teamsters Union Local 671 communications organizer, said.

DATTCO did not respond to FOX61's request for comment.

Monday, union members in Cromwell and Middletown voted unanimously to plan to strike if an agreement is not reached by September 30 with DATTCO. They are not the only ones with contract disputes
