SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — An investigation is underway after University of Utah Police responded to reports of an active shooter at the Marriott Library.

According to the officials, the first reports of the sound of gunshots were called in to Salt Lake City dispatchers at 9:50 a.m. Police say that the noise reports are not related to a shooter and are not a swatting incident.

At this time, Police say the reports of an active shooter are false and are investigating what happened.

University officials said that this did not impact campus activities and everything continues as normal.
