TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Terre Haute Police Department, along with the Vigo County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), is hosting a day-and-a-half meeting with the community to discuss the response of the justice system to mentally ill individuals.
The community is encouraged to join in on the conversation and planning meeting to weigh in on their thoughts on mental health crisis response, along with the National Alliance for Mental Illness(NAMI), in attendance. The community conversation will include representatives from various organizations that use the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) with the goal of evaluating the current mental health crisis response strengths and weaknesses in order to provide better services in the future.
