HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) - Holmes County Sheriff's officials have been working for more than a week to sort out a large fight that broke out on August 17 at Lake Cassidy.
Deputies responded to reports of dozens of people gathered at the waters, fists flying, people yelling, and even shots fired into the air.
Sheriff John Tate says both groups, one from Alabama and the other from Walton County, were involved.
"The group from Alabama started to insinuate a fight and attacked one of the victims; that fight led to the video y'all saw on social media," Sheriff John Tate said.
Investigators say the group first met at the Wagon Wheel bar in DeFuniak Springs, before heading to Lake Cassidy.
The reason for the fight remains unclear, though a witness told deputies it may have been over a girl
