After four days of strong attendance, but no record turnout, the Minnesota State Fair set a new attendance record on Monday, Aug. 25.
The fair's 145,022 admissions for the first Monday eclipsed the previous high-water mark of 144,504 set in 2017. That's nearly 65,000 more than attended the first Monday of the fair in 2024, which saw just 80,546 visitors, partly due to severe storms.
Through the first five days, the 2025 fair has brought 819,197 through its gates, which is almost 110,000 more than last year, when the fair had its fifth-best attendance of all-time.
While the 2024 fair broke five single-day attendance records, it still fell short of pre-pandemic numbers in total. The all-time high was set in 2019, with 2,126,551 attendees, following on the heels of multiple years of record
