When George Howell was running the Coffee Connection chain decades ago, he counted two Newbury Street locations among its retail footprint. Now Howell's namesake coffee company is as close to Newbury Street as can be — with its fifth location scheduled to open today at the new Lyrik development on Massachusetts Avenue, across from Newbury Street.

“It’s really an ideal location and one that puts us on the map,” Howell said.
