UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- A third bat in two weeks has tested positive for rabies in the Utica area, according to the Oneida County Department of Health.

The Department of Health says that two people and one cat were exposed to the bat. Both people received post-exposure treatment, while the cat received a rabies booster vaccination.

This is the second bat to test positive in South Utica in the last week, and the third in the Utica area over the last two weeks. A bat also tested positive in New Hartford on Friday, August 15.
