The Department of Health says that two people and one cat were exposed to the bat. Both people received post-exposure treatment, while the cat received a rabies booster vaccination.
This is the second bat to test positive in South Utica in the last week, and the third in the Utica area over the last two weeks. A bat also tested positive in New Hartford on Friday, August 15.
