DANUBE, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- A wagon accident Monday night in the town of Danube has sent two people to the hospital and overturned a vehicle, according to New York State Police.

Troopers were called to State Route 5S near Bellinger Road in the town of Danube at approximately 5:37 pm on Monday, September 1. A preliminary investigation found that the vehicle -- driven by 73-year-old Laurie Callan of Fort Plain -- was traveling eastbound on State Route 5S behind an Amish horse-drawn wagon.

Callan's vehicle struck the rear of the wagon, ejecting all eight occupants of the wagon and overturning Callan's vehicle, which came to rest in the westbound lane.
