Three years after opening the Rafter 3C Arena, Churchill County is seeing impressive economic impact numbers from the facility flowing into the local community.

These numbers are based on calculations on the county’s fiscal year which runs from July 1 to June 30.

In fiscal year 2022-23, the Rafter 3C Arena and larger 3C Event Complex (formerly the fairgrounds) brought in $8.49 million to the local area; in 2023-24 the local economic impact had risen to $11.6 million; and by 2024-25, that number topped $12 million.

Multi-day events that bring in out-of-town guests to the community are the biggest economic impact generators. The 3C Event Complex’s largest economic generating event in 2024-25 was the NIAA’s State Wrestling Tournament held in February.
