(FOX40.COM) — The Transportation Security Administration has updated its list of items that are banned from being in checked bags, a development that may upset haircare enthusiasts.

According to a social media post, the TSA is prohibiting cordless curling irons containing a gas cartridge or butane, along with spare cartridges, from being included in checked bags.

Any devices containing butane, lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries are also prohibited from checked bags.

The cordless curling irons are still allowed in carry-on bags, but must have a safety cover over the heating element, and only one cordless curling iron per person is permitted, said the TSA.
