PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Firefighters in Pittsylvania County are working together to come up with the best policies and practices for fighting electric vehicle fires due to the dangers surrounding them.
The Sudz-It EV utility nozzle is tool used specifically for battling electric vehicle fires.
The Chatham Fire Department was the first and only in the county to purchase one.
“A couple years ago when the electric vehicles started picking up pace, we wanted to invest in something to have to in case we did have a fire because we were seeing more and more on the road,” said Chief Bobby Higgins, Chatham Volunteer Fire Department.
