SHELBURN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The man accused of shooting another man in Shelburn last week appeared in court Tuesday for his initial hearing.
According to the Indiana State Police, Conner Fields was arrested on August 20 by an Indiana State Police Detective. Conner Fields has been charged with attempted voluntary manslaughter and aggravated battery after allegedly shooting Jeffery Fields.
According to court documents, the shooting was the result of an argument that started between Conner’s Grandfather Terry Fields, and Jeffery Fields.
In court today, a pretrial hearing date of November 7 has been scheduled, with a jury trial scheduled for sometime in 2026.
Fields will appear in court next on Tuesday, September 2, for a continuance of his initial hearing.
