News services ranks Highland Prep 35th in state, tops in city

A Surprise charter school has cracked U.S. News and World Report’s rankings of top high schools in Arizona.

Highland Prep, a STEM-focused college-preparatory school at 15600 W. Hearn Road, finished 35th in the state ­— and the highest in Surprise — in the latest rankings.

“This prestigious recognition is a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and its focus on preparing students for success in college and beyond,” school spokesperson Destiny Dominguez said.

The news service ranks schools based on factors such as test scores, graduation rates and college readiness.
