KIRKLAND, Wash. — A walk-a-thon in Kirkland this weekend aims to raise awareness for a missing Snohomish County man with autism.

Jonathan Hoang, 21, disappeared from his home in Arlington at the end of March.

The event, which is in honor of Hoang’s 22nd birthday, begins Friday at 7:30 p.m. and ends Saturday at 5:30 p.m. It covers a 4.1-mile waking loop that begins and ends at Juanita Beach Park. The walk travels through the South Juanita neighborhood.

Event organizers said they aim to raise awareness, share Hoang’s story and keep the search for him moving forward.

The walk is in the same area as a possible sighting of Hoang on June 23. Surveillance footage captured a person who looked similar to Hoang in the area of Northeast 114th Lane in Kirkland.
