PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - The 15-year-old boy accused of firing a gun at Manual High School Friday afternoon has been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm.

The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office said the boy was ordered to remain in custody at the juvenile detention center. The state’s attorney’s office also filed a motion to transfer the case to adult felony court.

Police were called to the school after a four-round ShotSpotter alert around 2:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Wiswall on Friday.

Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria said Friday that his officers were already on scene in unmarked vehicles.

The state’s attorney’s office said the school had been hit twice - one round hit the glass front door and entered the foyer. The other hit an exterior wall.
