The Fallon Junior Rodeo returns for Labor Day weekend at Rafter 3C Complex.

The festivities kick off Friday with the rodeo queen competition followed by two days of rodeo and concluding with a pistol roping contest Monday. Admission is free.

“Our boys have been rodeoing since they were little,” said organizer Jennifur Peek, whose family took over the event in 2017. “We’ve done the junior rodeos and moved to Fallon in 2011. When the opportunity came up, we jumped at it. It was our entire life.”

Queen contestants check in at 5 p.m. on Friday, followed by introductions at the Dry Gulch, and speeches and the horsemanship contest at 6 p.m. at the outdoor arena. The new queen will be crowned Saturday during the rodeo’s lunch break, and she’ll lead Sunday’s grand entry in the presentation ride
