GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Family and friends are remembering the life of an Upstate father and husband tragically killed while directing traffic.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said 40-year-old Cesar Humberto Pena was working for his employer, Greenville Water, when he hit by a pickup truck along East North Street on Aug. 21. He was wearing a reflective coat at the time of the crash.

Pena was taken to Prisma Heath Greenville Memorial Hospital where he passed away that Thursday evening.

FOX Carolina’s Ashley Listrom spoke with Pena’s close family friends who said Pena was someone who was always there for others.
