OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — After nearly three years of construction, Wendell Foster unveiled its new aquatic center Wednesday, offering a vital new resource for residents and families.

For almost 80 years, Wendell Foster has focused on empowering individuals with disabilities to realize their potential. The new aquatic center is designed to enhance therapy and recreation for residents, many of whom rely on specialized care.

Ron and Peggy Graul, parents of twins who have been Wendell Foster residents for four decades, were among those moved by the opening.

“It just looks like a miracle,” Ron Graul said. “They are both excited about this pool, as they haven’t been able to get in a pool for a while. Their muscles just completely relax being in a pool like that.”
