SHREVEPORT, La. - Since 2013, CHRISTUS Aquatic Club has recognized that swimming isn't just a sport; it's a path to fitness, focus and friendships that last a lifetime.
"That's what's really unique about swim. It's a lifesaving skill. It's also a lifelong recreational activity, but it's also a competitive sport," says Angie Carter, CHRISTUS Aquatic Club head coach.
The club is for beginner swimmers at 5 years old, which helps with water safety in young kids — preventing accidents in and around water — and also for those swimming at the highest level in high school and college.
She says the big focus of the club is on the competitive side of swimming.
