Jeep is recalling one of its most popular models due to wiring issues relating to its safety systems.
Nearly 80,000 Jeep Wranglers are affected in the recall because of possible defect in the tire pressure monitoring system, which poses a crash risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration . Affected vehicles are 2024 and 2025 models and were produced between April 2023 and December 2024.
The problem is not related to a part defect, according to documents filed with the agency this month.
During the assembly process, vehicles may have had their remote start antenna pinched under the seat belt retractor bracket, affecting the pressure monitoring system’s functioning.
