A new food collaboration has begun in Bloomington with Pinoy Garden Cafe and Mama Dukes Hawaiian Barbeque joining forces — more accurately food — as the new Pacific Island Grindz.
The "island" food is a combination of the Filipino and Hawaiian fare that both are known for. It will be offered 5-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, as part of Food Truck Friday at Switchyard Park.
Maria St. Clair of Pinoy Garden and Amber Racoma of Mama Dukes have begun the collaboration after discovering that various groups were using both for catering events since the "island" food blends together well. Under the new name of Pacific Island Grindz they plan to offer catering for corporate events, weddings and other gatherings.
