Google's Indianapolis data center deal ignores voters

Google won a major victory in its quest to build a massive data center in Indianapolis last week, thanks to nine unelected government officials.

All except one member of the Metropolitan Development Commission — Brent Lyle — voted to rezone 467 acres of Franklin Township farmland for the data center Aug. 20. A crowd of more than 100 angry residents, with signatures of 4,500 more, opposed the project.
