The mum of a three-year-old Ayr girl has told how she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia after her fractured leg failed to heal properly.

Lilly-Ann Larmour is currently receiving life-saving treatment at the Glasgow Royal Hospital for Children which is likely to last for more than two years.

She is currently undergoing an intense chemotherapy and is set to receive other treatments, but could pick up a deadly infection due to a compromised immune system when she returns home, reports the Daily Record .

Her mum, Chloe Wells, 26, said: “Lily-Ann is going through five weeks of intensive treatment and then she has a further six months of chemotherapy and she will be in and out of hospital during that time.

“We’ll find out more about how she is responding to the treatment
