The first game of the 2025 boys soccer season gave the Sun Valley Community School Cutthroats a chance to “live and learn,” in the eyes of head coach Richard Whitelaw, as the team drew 1-1 against the Teton Timberwolves in Idaho Class 4A action Saturday at Browning Field in Sun Valley.

SVCS led 1-0 after senior forward Anders Coulter slotted a goal in the 37th minute on a nice pass from sophomore forward Sebi Silaghi.

Whitelaw quipped that Coulter should have had two goals after Teton junior goalkeeper Kirby Martinez made a strong save against him in the 51st minute.

The Cutthroats kept their lead throughout the second half even as Teton kept the pressure up on the SVCS defense. Things got chippy between the teams as SVCS sophomore defender Quinn Parmenter and Teton junior midfielder Je
