OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Alzheimer’s Association leaders are inviting residents in Ocala to a special pep rally on Wednesday, in preparation for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The walk is happening on Saturday, September 27 but Ocala residents are invited to come out with their purple best to get a preview of this years walk.

Association officials say the color represents hope, strength, and passion.

“The advocacy, we have to have people at our state capitol, we have to have people at our national capitol advocating for this disease to figure out funding to make sure we are supporting scientists and researchers and doctors” Kerry Eck, Community Engagement Chair, said.
