IRVING PARK — Plans are in the works to bring more housing to a busy and sometimes dangerous intersection at the border of Avondale and Irving Park.
Local developer Wes Khan, who has built apartment buildings around the Northwest Side under his company, Alfa Chicago, wants to build 32 apartments on the site of his company’s office, 4100 W. Belmont Ave.
Khan’s plan would require demolishing his office building, which his family has owned since at least 2013, and constructing a five-story building with 32 two-bedroom apartments. Six would be priced below market rate per the city’s Affordability Requirements Ordinance, and there would be 22 parking spots and 32 bike parking spots.
