WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) - The Watertown International Airport will be receiving another round of federal funding.
News emerged on Tuesday that the airport will be getting over $7 million in an announcement from United States Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
The funds are part of a federal initiative to fund airports across the state.
This round of federal funding will help the Watertown International Airport with terminal construction, signage for the runway and acquiring another five acres of land.
The airport has already made a number of improvements and is in the final round of a $30 million expansion project.
The work will create a new terminal, lobby and baggage claim area.
