Interstate 10 hummed with cars rushing north toward Phoenix, drivers pushing to get ahead of what was bearing down on them. At the Red Rock exit, just off the freeway, storm chaser and photographer Mike Olbinski was waiting.
Commuter engines revved and the desert winds picked up around him. The skies were beginning to darken, but in Olbinski’s line of work, timing is everything. Leave too soon, and he’d miss the footage he needs to make a living. Depart too late, and he could get stuck.
