CAIRO, Ill. (WSIL) – One of Cairo’s most beloved traditions is back this fall. The Blues and Gospel Festival returns to Historic Downtown Cairo for three days of soul-stirring music and community celebration.

The free festival runs from Thursday, September 11, through Saturday, September 13. Organizers say the event has become a cornerstone of Cairo’s cultural calendar, drawing locals and visitors alike for a weekend of music, food, and fellowship.

The final day of the festival, will feature a community favorite; the 12th Annual Cairo Heritage Parade. That kicks off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. This year’s theme, “Boots on the Ground".

The event is hosted by the Cairo Heritage Foundation with support from The Cairo Historical Preservation Project (TCHPP).
