MINOT, ND (KXNET) - Souris Valley United Way and Cash Wise Foods will host a Backpack Buddies Food Drive on Friday, Aug. 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cash Wise in Minot.

Shoppers can purchase discounted items such as mac and cheese cups, fruit cups, granola bars, Chef Boyardee meals and instant oatmeal packets to support local children in need.

At approximately 4:50 p.m., Campaign Co-Chair, Braden will participate in a 60-second shopping spree. Ackerman-Estvold will match the value of his cart up to $750.

Backpack Buddies provides weekend meals and snacks for more than 530 children in Minot schools who may face food insecurity at home.
