Advanced: Updated short-term rental ordinance
Council advanced an updated ordinance regarding short-term rentals. If approved, the updates include: • Defining an adult as someone at least 21 years old. • Changing the time associated with a short-term rental from six consecutive months to 30 days. • Requiring current short-term rental owners to obtain a city permit within 120 days of the amended ordinance’s enactment. • Stating that after the 120-day period following the ordinance’s enactment, short-term rentals operating without approval from the city will have to pay a $250 permit application fee. • Requiring short-term rental agents to reside within a 15-mile radius of the property.
