A public consultation will be held on whether to allow temporary exemptions from short-term let licensing when Glasgow hosts the Commonwealth Games next year.
The plan could help alleviate accommodation pressures during the event when there is expected to be a “significant increase” in demand.
Owners would need to apply for a temporary exemption, but would not need a licence to let their properties if the city’s licensing committee agreed to the proposal.
At a meeting today (Wednesday), councillors on the committee backed the consultation. Bailie Leòdhas Massie, Greens, asked for it to also consider a temporary licensing approach.
