A 23-year-old Jackson man has been arrested after running from Capitol Police on Tuesday.

At approximately 7:51 p.m. August 26th, Capitol Police officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle driving recklessly. The driver, 23-year-old Tyler Kendrell, was traveling at a high rate of speed and officers were unable to catch up to the vehicle and chose not to pursue.

The officers remained in the area, looking for the vehicle while Kendrell continued driving at a high speed, running a red light and hitting another car before traveling into the grass embankment and hitting a metal guard rail at a nearby gas station.

Kendrell was arrested on scene with no further incident and transported to a nearby hospital. Charges are pending at this time.
