SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Attorney General Marty Jackley has joined a coalition of 47 Attorneys General demanding action against the spread of inappropriate AI deepfakes.
Jackley and other AGs are ordering major search engines and payment platforms to address predatory and intimate deepfakes within their platforms.
“These companies are not doing enough to limit the creation of these deepfakes and to protect the public,” said AG Jackley. “These images are being used to embarrass, intimidate, and exploit people, especially women and girls. It must stop.”
In letters sent to the companies, the Attorneys General write that 98% of fake online imagery is deepfake, nonconsensual, inappropriate AI videos.
