Today: We’re enjoying another cool and dry day across central Alabama. High pressure is keeping skies mostly clear, and after a pleasant start this morning, afternoon highs should climb into the low-to-mid-80s.

The Next 24 Hours: That high is expected to shift slightly east by Thursday, opening the door for a system that will bring more moisture back into the region. Clouds will likely increase tonight into Thursday, with temperatures cooling back into the low 60s overnight.

The Next Big Thing--Thursday and Friday: An upper-level disturbance sliding through the eastern U.S. will help spark rain and a few thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and Friday.
