BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

Sporting events at Birmingham City Schools will soon look a little different as the system begins implementing new guidelines to make the games more family-friendly.

To get into a game here at any BCS stadium this season, people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and that adult must show their ID to get in.

The new rules come less than a week after fights broke out at the school system's Stop the Violence game.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Sullivan is emphasizing the importance of stopping the violence now, more than ever. "It's not just a student issue, it's a community issue to our young people so they can make better decisions," he said.
