MIAMI GARDENS — The Dolphins have claimed cornerback Julius “JuJu” Brents, a 2023 second-round pick by Indianapolis out of Kansas State, from the waiver wire .

Brents (6-foot-3, 198 pounds), has appeared in 11 games, starting nine, and has totaled 50 tackles, one interceptions, six passes defended, one forced fumble and one recovered fumble. Last season he appeared in two games, making one start, and totaled seven tackles. His season ended on Sept. 10 when he was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury.

Brents played 52 special teams snaps in 2024 and five last season.

Brents will compete for playing time at cornerback behind projected starters Storm Duck, Jack Jones and nickel/slot Jason Marshall Jr. as well as recently-signed Rasul Douglas and Isaiah Johnson. The Dolphins als
