WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A Watertown woman is accused of leaving three young children home alone and resisting arrest.

City police arrested 33-year-old Jessica Ezell of 1200 Bronson Street on Tuesday.

According to police, a worker from the Department of Social Services went to meet with Ezell at her home but found that she wasn’t there.

Instead, police said the worker found three children, ages 3, 4 and 6, alone inside the home.

It’s unclear how long the children were unsupervised or where Ezell had been.

Police later arrested Ezell at her home. Officers said she struggled with them when she was placed in handcuffs.

Ezell was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.

Police declined to comment on the status of the children.
