LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are investigating an ongoing theft of copper wire from a construction site in north Lincoln.

On Monday, officers responded to Cargill Ag Horizons near North 27th Street and Cornhusker Highway.

The supervisor reported that a person has been entering silos at the construction site and stealing copper wire, according to LPD.

Police estimate that around $50,000 worth of copper wire has been stolen.

Investigators noted that there were holes found in chain link fences around the property, along with holes dug under doors.
