OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - Action 2 News has learned of an arrest involving a family medicine physician in Northeast Wisconsin who is currently being held in Oconto County Jail on potential charges, including child sexual assault.

We are not naming the man, at this point, as criminal charges are not yet filed.

Prevea Health has issued a statement to Action 2 News regarding the arrest:

We are aware of the serious allegations involving an employee. While we cannot comment on the specifics of an active legal matter, please know we take matters like this very seriously. The safety and well-being of our patients and community are our highest priority. The employee is not currently working and we will continue to take appropriate actions as more information becomes available.
