SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WKOW) — A gas leak on Tuesday forced the evacuation of the 1600 block of Main Street in Sun Prairie. No one was hurt and residents were able to return to their buildings after about 90 minutes.
Sun Prairie Fire/EMS responded to the incident around 3:49 p.m. after a private contractor struck a 1-inch service gas line during underground boring, according to a press release.
Fire crews found minor gas readings in several structures, prompting the evacuation of three businesses and two duplexes. WE Energies arrived to control the leak.
